Golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club

Golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club

A club with a history, the Royal Colombo Golf Club was established in the late 19th century under British colonial rule. Conveniently located in Sri Lanka’s commercial capital of Colombo, it is in fact, the country’s oldest golf club and its competitive trophy was established in 1887. The railway track running across the green introduces an interesting twist to the game.

The Royal Colombo Golf Club is also one of the only three “Royal” golf clubs in Asia and has ties to The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews in Scotland. Spend a leisurely morning or late afternoon out golfing on the green. These hours are ideal as they allow you to escape the sweltering heat of the midday sun.
